Boston – a city of unforgettable scenery and spectacular views and so much to do!
As we accelerate toward 2026 all eyes are on the USA and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Boston is where it all began and was thought of as the Revolutionary City. Fast forward 250 years and this city is still revolutionary.
Home to bio-tech industries, world leading AI and robotics, its Innovation Trail, tells the story of how the city is galloping ahead in its development. Graduates of the more than 60 colleagues and universities in the area (including of course MIT and Harvard) are choosing to stay on in the USA’s safest major city, to make their fortunes and change our world. This trail is becoming as popular as The Freedom Trail which charts Boston’s first revolution.
Running alongside the Freedom Trail you will also find the Black Heritage Trail which explores yet another revolution, that of African Americans in the United States. Black Voices of the Revolution: Liberty, Emancipation, and the Struggle for Independence will run throughout 2026. The exhibition charts the quest for liberty, drawing on Boston’s innovative style to do so with AI driven holographic storytellers to unravel these difficult themes.
Boston is a majority minority city of 23 distinct neighbourhoods. Each with its own welcome from all. The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a symbol of how these communities literally connect to each other with the Italian district of the North End at one end of its chain of little parks and one of the USA’s oldest and its most thriving China Towns at the other.
Don’t miss the Seaport neighbourhood, ten years ago it was little more than parking lots and old warehouses, now it is a glittering hub of chic hotels, fun seasonal markets from Robot Block Parties in the spring, to its current iteration as ‘Snowport’ for the season. Seek out stylish restaurants such as Grace by Nia a dreamy, contemporary confection of southern dining from renowned Boston Chef Nia Grace and the sort of velvet draped, jewel toned, jazz club settings of Hollywood’s steamiest heyday.
Another link connecting Boston’s communities its renowned obsession with sports. Bostonians are unbreakable in their loyalty to the Celtics, Bruins, Patriots and of course the Boston Red Sox, but the ‘semiquincentennial’ will also bring raise soccer’s game with the locals as FIFA 26 comes to town. Boston will host 7 games of the World Cup including a quarter final. It is also set to be the ideal location to base oneself for seeing matches across New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia and even DC given Amtrak’s launch of a brand new NextGen Acela service from the city serving all these locations.
Also, Boston’s reputation for safety and welcome as well as its richly diverse communities ensure that no matter your loyalties, there will be an ideal location for a watch party amongst fellow supporters in the city ‘where everybody knows your name’, or soon will. Cheers!
